I am a cybersecurity executive with more than 20 years of experience in cybersecurity, including over eight years leading enterprise security and cyber resilience across highly regulated and technology-driven industries. During this time, I have built and led high-performing cybersecurity organisations, advised executive teams, and helped businesses manage cyber risk while enabling growth and innovation.

I am particularly drawn to environments where change is needed - whether that means building a new cybersecurity function, transforming an existing programme, or helping organisations navigate periods of rapid growth and increasing cyber risk.

Throughout my career, I have worked in organisations with very different levels of cybersecurity maturity - from well-established security programmes to environments where cybersecurity had to be built almost from scratch. I particularly enjoy building cybersecurity capabilities from the ground up: defining a clear strategy, building exceptional teams, and transforming security into a business enabler that creates measurable impact.

My leadership is grounded in a strong technical background. I hold a B.Sc. and M.Sc. in Computer Engineering from the University Autonoma of Madrid and a Ph.D. in Computer Science from University Carlos III of Madrid. Alongside my industry career, I continue to collaborate as a part-time professor with the Computer Security Lab (COSEC). Teaching and mentoring have always been passions of mine.

Over the years, I have authored numerous research publications and have had the privilege of speaking at conferences, executive events, and universities around the world. I am convinced that sharing knowledge and helping people understand and embrace cybersecurity - whether they are engineers, executives, students, or board members - contributes to building a more resilient world. I believe that making complex ideas accessible is just as important as solving complex technical problems.

My experience spans financial services, healthcare, consulting, technology companies, and cybersecurity vendors, giving me the opportunity to see cybersecurity from many different perspectives. Across all of these roles, one thing has remained constant: I love leading teams, helping people grow, and building organisations that are more resilient, more secure, and better prepared for the future.
